Raspberry Iced Coffee by: Emma

Hi everyone, I'm Emma of Food Coma. And Bethany was kind enough to allow me to share a little coffee drink with you all. Here's one of the ways that I like to enjoy iced coffee at home.

I cold brew coffee over night in my french press. I use more coarsely ground coffee than I normally would for hot coffee, as iced coffee will eventually be enjoyed with ice so it gets watered down anyway.

After 8-10 hours my cold brew coffee is ready and I like to serve it with a scant 1/4 cup half and half or whole milk, 1/2 teaspoon raspberry extract and frozen raspberries (and a few ice cubes).
It's a homemade raspberry iced coffee-perfect for summer!

Thanks so much!

  1. I've been wanting a good iced coffee recipe, and this sounds delicious!

  2. looks and sounds delish! is there any difference/advantage in cold brewing? Would it be the same if you had hot leftovers from the morning that you put in the fridge?

  3. Krystie, I used to work at a coffee shop and we would save the hot brewed coffee and espresso to use in iced drinks.

  4. @Krystie, I did not make the recipe, so it would be best to ask Emma at her Food Coma Blog.

However, in my opinion working as a Barista, cold brewing produces the best quality ice coffee. You should try it! It is kind of out of this world how much more flavor you get, but hot brewed coffee would work as well.

Experimenting with coffee is always fun!

  5. i am so excited that I found your blog!! in fact, i almost freaked out! ahhh a coffee lover who blogs about it! yesss. love it xxo em

  6. This looks delish! :) Thanks to both of you for sharing! So fun to find more coffee lovers in the blog world! :)
